Our biggest adventure yet

About this time four years ago, Dave and I found out he had been accepted into the Masters program in France and we decided to embark on a two-year adventure that included living in France and Italy. At the time, dropping everything to live in a foreign country for that long seemed exciting, but that pales in comparison to our newest big adventure:

A baby!

Baby Natali will make his or her debut this fall!

Yep, this fall, we will become parents. I still can’t believe it’s happening and I keep wanting to call the doctor to have them confirm it’s really true. (Although if my eating habits are of any indication, it’s definitely true! Someone please pass me anything salty…) I’m through my first trimester and all things considered, am feeling pretty good. There has been an uptick in the number naps I want to take and I really miss my allergy medicine this time of year, but all in all, I can’t complain.

Baby Natali is due around October 20 and we are going to do our best to remain in the dark on the baby’s gender until the actual birth. We’ll see how that goes…

I also have (what I think is) a good plan for work/maternity leave (spoiler alert: I’m planning on working right up until the stork makes this special delivery, then taking some time off through the busy holiday season, which conveniently coincides with the slower work season.) I know there are many other details to work out and for which to plan, but for now, life is good and about to get even better as we grow our family by two feet (and two hands, ten fingers, ten toes…)

More to come on this for sure, but in the meantime, I’m going to enjoy some potato chips. Because the baby wants them. I’m sure of it.

  1. Oh, Lisa! This is such wonderful news. Gave me goosies. I’m sure and Dave are in ecstatic, and your mom and dad must be over the moon ❤️. My fondest congrats.
ps. You mean all I have to do is get pregnant to justify wolfing down a bag of chips???
