Overview
We all know how much I love website launch days, but I get extra-excited when it involves new technical tricks I get to implement!
For Dearden Wines, owner and winemaker Chris Dearden needed a revamped website and a storefront for his different wine brands. While I had worked on sites with e-comm before, it had been a while since I got to design one. Chris wanted something that was clean, easy to navigate, and something that would be easy to update when it came time for new products, new wine vintages, and news from the vineyard.
On the design side, I kept everything clean with a black and white color scheme with pops of a bright green to symbolize all the time Chris spends among the vines! The colors also allowed for the focus to remain on the wine labels, as each have their own identity to showcase.
From a technical standpoint, the website has its own slideshow, which Chris can update himself, as well as the added functionality on the backend of custom fields, dedicated to the vineyard-specific wines. This will not only make it easier for Chris to keep track of products, but even more importantly, also make the vineyards obvious to customers when they are looking to purchase specific wines.
Round out the design and development with a mailing list sign up form and a trade area and you’ve got the new Dearden Wines website!
Loved reading about the different labels.
