The OOF brought a strong visual direction to the project, so rather than beginning with a redesign, the focus of this project was custom WordPress development. I was tasked with translating an intentionally designed desktop experience into a fully responsive, accessible and search-optimized WordPress website while preserving the character of the original concept.
A key part of the process was evaluating how the supplied design would perform beyond its original presentation. Layouts, typography, imagery, spacing and content relationships were thoughtfully adapted across tablet and mobile breakpoints rather than simply stacking desktop elements on smaller screens. The design was also audited for accessibility, with recommendations made where necessary to improve color contrast, hierarchy, usability and other elements affecting WCAG 2.0 Level AA conformance.
SEO was considered throughout development rather than added as an afterthought. Site structure, heading hierarchy, page content, metadata and technical implementation were carefully reviewed to create a strong foundation for search visibility while maintaining a natural experience for users.
The project also created an opportunity to improve OOF’s internal lead process. Previously, new inquiries required the team to manually send the same questionnaire to each prospective client. A Gravity Forms workflow was introduced to automate that follow-up, moving leads into the next step of the onboarding process without requiring repetitive administrative work from the team.
The site was developed in WordPress with long-term content management in mind. Reusable components and structured editing tools allow the OOF team to update content while maintaining the established design system, reducing the likelihood of visual inconsistencies as the site evolves.
The finished website brings together the client’s original creative vision with responsive development, accessibility, SEO, workflow automation and a practical content management system—resulting in a site that feels highly designed on the front end while working harder for the business behind the scenes.
