Happy New Year | 2016

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great time ringing in the New Year! We were in Queens with some good friends, playing Cards Against Humanity, laughing hysterically, and marveling at the stamina of a 4-year-old who was awake until 11:30! Dave and I took a long holiday break, only just returning to California the other night in time for one of the El Niño storms…let me just say, I’m good with no travel for a bit. Whew!

2015 was quite possibly my biggest year to date, both personally and professionally. For starters: I got married, which topped off my “most memorable moments” list this year. I was also able to continue my business from the comfort of my home country. Speaking of home countries, I saw a good portion of mine, with a cross-country trip across the U.S.-of-A in February. There were many family get togethers— too numerous to count— but gatherings I had missed in our time living abroad. I kept up my language skills, thanks to quasi-weekly meetings of my gruppo italiano and Dave and I enjoyed the results of the garden we put in at my parents’ house; I also got a chance to work with some great clients, practice my photography and have grown in confidence as both a web designer/developer and small business owner.

As I reflect on the past year, I’m feeling pretty lucky to be able to do what I love day after day and have an amazing support system surrounding me. It’s been fulfilling, challenging, rewarding, frustrating, and meaningful— all in the best ways, and I’m grateful for the progress that went with it. I’m looking forward to an even bigger and better 2016.
